Life Imprints

I can think of three significant events in my life.
The first one was when I bought my own home, which led to a renewed sense of independence. The second was when I got married and it calls for an elevated level of accountability and responsibility for my wife and our marriage. And last but not least was the birth of our beautiful daughter that triggered a feeling of such deep affection and love for a life brought forth in the world. All three events had a permanent imprint in my life.I can’t help but think that no matter how much I planned for these events, nothing could have prepared me on how it changed my life and the way I view things. I’ve experience ups and down along the way but overall I know I’m blessed to have gone through them because it made me the person I am today. I went from thinking that it was all because of my own doing that I have what I have now, to humbly acknowledging that it is in fact all because of His generosity.
Deuteronomy 8: 17-18 draws me back to the true Source of it all. It reads: “You may say to yourself, ‘My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me’ But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.”
God changed me in every stage of my life. He has remarkably transformed my perspective of things as well. Everything I have is His and I whole-heartedly surrender myself to His will and His ways.
