clarity One day, I came across 1 Corinthians 1:30 during my quiet time. I know I have read this before and I remember what it was referring to. As I was reading some side notes off my devotion guide, something about the passage completely blew me away.

I know it was the Holy Spirit talking to me. I definitely would not have thought of the message that way.

Often times when I sin, I keep quiet before God. I don’t pray. I don’t read His Word for a while. It is second nature for me to do that. I do not give it much thought, it just happens naturally. As if I am putting myself on ‘time out’.

1 Corinthians 1:30 says “It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God–that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption”. Every time I hear this passage, I always relate it to my salvation, with the understanding that Christ saved me from my past sins. What I fail to realize was that God also has forgiven me for the sins that I am about to make. He knows my weaknesses and loves me as I am. He chose me despite of all my iniquities. In my weakness, His strength manifests and His name is glorified. This moment of clarity made such a tremendous impact in my spiritual walk. No longer do I take a step back when I fail. The only step I take is the one I need to be on my knees, to ask for forgiveness and His grace is more than enough to take me to a higher place.
