Not A Coincidence

It has been about six months since we have pledged to take part in the Capture The Vision (CTV) campaign. It has been an enriching experience as we witness how faithful God is and how profound the lessons are.
For the longest time my husband and I do not have identical views on giving. The campaign pushed us out of our comfort zones. I am not only referring to the obvious area of finance but also to some belief systems we individually have since childhood. It has forced us to seek His word in prayer and obedience, as husband and wife. We both learned something from the seeking part of it and we both walked out looking at the same direction since.
Fast forward to six months, we have experienced a raise and more projects than we have anticipated. Sure, a raise happens every now and then. It might have been that time already. It might have happened whether we have pledged to the CTV campaign or not. Sure, summer has always been the busiest season for our projects. It could all have been a coincidence. BUT, it is not merely a coincidence because 2 Corinthians 9:8 says “Every blessing of yours overflow for you, so that in every situation you will always have all you need for any good work”. God, in all His mighty power, does not need my help for the church mission hall or for a church central fund. The Creator of the Universe can and will have His will be done with or without my participation. He is God after all. My mere participation is for His glory to be manifested through my life, through our work, in how we handle our finances, in how we treat every aspect of our lives. God, with the riches of His glory, has given me an opportunity to be a part of His plan for His church. I am mesmerized and in great awe at how He is working in our lives. I feel small to be a part of His grand plan. But I also feel big enough that He sends blessings my way for His glory. To Him be glory forever and ever.
